In this video, we will talk about myths of leadership at the middle level—these are misconceptions that treat leadership as merely a position or a job title. Some imagine that if they were at the top: others would automatically follow them and they would break free from all constraints, because they believe in the myth of: all or nothing. Following the principle: "If I can't reach the top, I won't even attempt to lead," they do not realize that leadership at the middle level actually means: knowing how to lead yourself, your subordinates, and your colleagues at work—even extending to leading those above you through the initiatives, proposals, observations, and plans that you present to them.

Among the common leadership myths in the middle area of an organization are:

Position and the constraints of leadership: The belief that leadership is solely tied to position and formal authority.

The destination and the possibility of learning later: Procrastination in developing leadership skills under the pretext of "I'll learn when I need to."

Influence and followers: Thinking that leadership necessarily means having permanent followers, without understanding that influence can be indirect or temporary.

Lack of experience and control: Fear of leading due to inexperience, or believing that a leader must control everything.

Freedom and constraints: The illusion that leadership at higher levels means absolute freedom, while in reality every level has its own constraints and challenges.

Latent abilities: The belief that leadership is only an innate talent and not a skill that can be developed.

All or nothing: A binary view that sees leadership as either being at the top or not at all.
